Tasks
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement material planning strategies
- Ensure accurate forecasting of spare parts and consumables demand
- Establish and monitor stock levels and establish reorder points
- Manage critical and urgent material requirements
- Lead procurement activities
- Ensure continued coordination with Lufthansa Technik's Purchasing Alliance
- Build strong relationships with OEMs, distributors, suppliers and repair vendors
- Negotiate agreements and consignment programs
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulatory standards and all applicable export control regulations
- Manage and develop a team of material planners and procurement specialists
- Implement KPIs for material availability, procurement cycle time, cost savings, and supplier performance
- Drive digitalization and automation of planning and procurement processes
- Develop contingency plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability for all materials
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits
- Maintain proper classification, licensing, and documentation of controlled items
Requirements
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Aviation (preferred), or equivalent relevant experience
- 5-7 years of professional experience in the aviation industry
- Proven background in aviation
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
