Project Controls Engineer

Job purpose

To assist in performing activities in the Project Controls section in line with planning and cost control and overall DCT strategy. Proactively assist and report in the area of evaluation of contractor schedule, milestone list, project schedule updates, and support project completion dates for all DCT CAPEX projects.

Key accountabilities

• Assist in the preparation of master schedules for all DCT capital projects, including but not limited to Level 1 / Level 2 design, procurement and construction schedule and key milestones list for each project.
• Evaluate and analyze contractor / consultant bidding schedules, design schedules, construction baseline schedules and schedule updates throughout project life cycle.
• Assist in developing progress reports to provide regular updates on project status, schedule, cost, and risks, and report to Project Controls Manager.
• Track overall project status and give recommendations and corrective actions where necessary to Project Controls Manager.
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly portfolio reports for Senior Project Controls Engineer review, outlining project KPIs with respect to completion dates, progress rates, and areas of concern for discussion.
• Review the weekly and monthly reports for various projects provided by contractors / consultants to ensure all data and progress reports are accurate and comply with project controls procedure of DCT.
• Attend weekly progress meetings for various CAPEX projects to ensure proper monitoring and controlling of work progress.

• Follow all relevant section policies, processes, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Project Controls section to facilitate flow of information and build awareness in those areas.

• Follow the day-to-day assignments set by the Line Manager in the Project Controls section to ensure continuity of work and delivery of effective and high-quality outputs.
• Report regularly to Project Controls Section Manager on operational activities of the Project Controls section, its challenges, hurdles, and methods of resolution or mitigation.
• Inform and update the Line Manager on the Project Controls sectionu2019s activities.

• Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

• Support the creation of a culture susceptible to change management through a hands-on and can-do approach to DCTu2019s new business opportunities, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviors.

Qualification

Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering

1. 2 years of experience in planning / project controls role; preferably in a similar role in the development or construction industry.
