Associate Director - Treasury and Banking Operations
Job Description
We are currently hiring for an Associate Director Banking Operations on behalf of one of the UAEs most prominent and diversified semi-government organizations.
This permanent role sits within the Finance Department Shared Services
Reporting directly to the Director Treasury, and plays a critical role in driving operational excellence across centralized banking functions.
We are seeking an experienced leader with deep expertise in back office banking operations, bank account and mandate management, and escrow account oversight within real estate projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in shared services environments, coupled with proven experience leading high-performing teams in a multi-entity structure.
Key Responsibilities
Banking Operations & Escrow Account Management- Oversee end-to-end execution and compliance of banking operations, including payments, reconciliations, and settlements
- Manage the lifecycle of real estate escrow accounts, ensuring compliance with local regulations and developer obligations
- Lead account opening/closing processes and maintain bank mandates across business units
- Act as the custodian of accurate bank records and authorization matrices
- Drive standardization and automation of banking processes across a centralized shared services model
- Implement KPIs and SLAs to ensure service efficiency, quality, and adherence to governance frameworks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external banking partners to resolve operational issues and optimize cash movement
- Ensure strong internal controls, documentation, and compliance across all banking operations
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of banking workflows, approvals, and account usage
- Lead initiatives for process improvement, risk mitigation, and fraud prevention
- Lead and develop a team of 57 professionals within the treasury and banking operations unit
- Set clear performance goals and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities
- Foster a culture of service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Bachelor&aposs degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (mandatory)
- Professional certifications (CA, CPA, CFA, or CTP) are a plus
- 7+ years of experience in back office banking operations, shared services, or corporate treasury
- Proven track record in real estate escrow account management, bank account administration, and mandate governance
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills within a multi-entity, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in systems such as Oracle Fusion, Kyriba, or SWIFT is preferred
- Middle East experience is highly desirable
