Position - Principal Engineer- Commissioning

Scope Of Responsibilities

Coordinate the work among all parties and execute within the budgeted man hours and project schedule.

• Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project and establish applicability to the scope of work.
• Carry out a detailed assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints in its execution.
• Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints / risks.
• Provide necessary inputs to commissioning proposals at the bidding stage.
• Inspect and ensure all construction activities are completed prior to taking up the system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety procedures for the same.
• Ensure that all safety and precautionary requirements and procedures are followed during the commissioning.
• Ensure that all procedures and prepared upfront and are followed by the team during the commissioning/ start up activities.
• Ensure continuous work front availablity and appropriate allocation to the team for expediting project progress.
• Responsible for review, and obtain approval of Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and Operations procedures from clients.
• Ability to lead Construction contractor/subcontractor for the safe execution of Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning activities in line with the schedule.
• Manages risk as assigned by commissioning manager, project management and/or site management by reviewing risk on a regular basis.
• Hold regular progress review meetings including HSE elements with the counterparts of respective discipline from client.
• Be cost conscious , control expenses, and report overruns to management.
• Carry out regular site inspections to guarantee the quality and progress of the work.
• Lead the multi-disciplinary team comprising of EPCM & Construction contractors/ Subcontractors in commissioning & start-up .
• Expedite punch list liquidationin line with project priorities.
• Regularly contact discipline engineers and supervisors to solve problems related to project execution and work safely.
• Liaise & Coordinate with commissioning engineers of EPCM & Construction contractors and provide them support and guidelines for technical commissioning related issues.
• Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Supervisor.

• Lead the entire electrical commissioning team and be responsible for all electrical commissioning phase and have strong engineering background in electrical field device and control system.
• Able to manage the entire electrical commissioning team and ability to organize and run the team ( engineers, supervisors, technicians)
• Direct the daily activities related to electrical SAT, energisation and functional testing.
• Provide technical support and problem resolving on different electrical equipment: transformer, HV/LV Switchboard, motors, relay protection systems.
• Interact with QA/QC to ensure compliance with company quality procedures. Coordinate internal and client audit request.
• Able to analyses technical issues and resolve to initiate an appropriate corrective action and report the same to the direct line management.
• Responsible to interface with client as required, attend internal project meetings, ensure the progress of electrical commissioning discipline in accordance to schedule.
