About the business area

The Corporate & Investment Banking Group (CIBG) provides a portfolio of corporate banking services, including investment and transaction banking as well as financial market solutions. This sophisticated product suite is powered by efficient digital platforms and distribution channels.

It serves a broad range of clients both domestically and across the MENA region, including government entities, financial institutions, large to mid-size corporates, and commercial clients (SMEs), and maintains strategic relationships with leading banks globally.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Strategy and plans u2013 In conjunction with, and as required by the Chief Officer of the Group, contribute to the formulation, implementation and delivery of the Groupu2019s strategy in line with ADCBu2019s vision, mission, values and priorities. Translate the strategy into operational business plans for the short, medium and long term within the department(s) and ensure that performance is monitored, reported and delivered and necessary actions are taken to achieve the strategy and plans.
  • Sales and business development u2013 Lead the acquisition of new clients, maintaining strong relationships and identifying opportunities for expansion within the commodity sector in order to drive growth.
  • Client relationship management u2013 Maintain long-term client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and identify solutions tailored to their commodity needs.
  • Market intelligence u2013 Analyze commodity market trends and regulatory changes in order to inform strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Leadership u2013 Manage employees and teams by overseeing their performance management, recruitment, learning and development to ensure high levels of engagement and competence, a motivated work environment and to maximize employee contribution to business performance.
  • Change management u2013 Drive the management of change in the business area through direct reports and teams by providing inputs for, and partaking in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment.
  • Policies, processes, systems and procedures u2013 Develop and oversee the creation and implementation of the required policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of the business areau2019s activity so that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled while ensuring that ADCB delivers best-in-class services, products and innovation whilst safeguarding the bank. Develop, implement and continuously review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and practices for commodity business to ensure compliance with both internal policy and external regulatory requirements.
  • Customer service u2013 Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the banku2019s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in progressively more complex and responsible roles in commodity sales, structured derivatives and credit solutions
  • Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets and financing structures
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and drive team performance
