Job Purpose

The Director for International Business Contracts is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of complex commercial contracts with overseas partners, vendors, and clients.

This role requires expertise in international contract law, cross-cultural negotiation, and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire contract lifecycle for complex international commercial contracts, including negotiation, drafting, review, and amendment.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on global regulatory requirements, trade laws, and commercial best practices, providing contractual guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Lead the implementation of Agile methodologies to drive efficiency and responsiveness in the contract management process.
  • Lead a team of contract specialists and managers focused on international markets, ensuring efficient and compliant contract management processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the legal, finance, contracts, and procurement departments to identify and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive contract management policies, procedures, and templates tailored to the company&aposs global operations.
  • Monitor industry trends and changes in international regulations to proactively update the company&aposs contracting approach.
  • Lead as a mentor for the department in navigating the complexities of cross-border transactions.
  • Analyze contract data to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and revenue growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the contracts team, championing the adoption of new technologies and Agile tools.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure the contracts team maintains expertise in global commercial laws, regulations, and industry
  • specific compliance requirements.
  • Represent the organization in high-level negotiations and discussions with key international partners and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner, providing insights to senior leadership on business contractual matters impacting global operations.

Experience and Education:

  • 15+ years of experience in international contract management, with progressive leadership responsibilities, preferably within Defense & Aerospace industry.
  • Bachelor&aposs degree in international law, science, engineering, or management is essential, while a master&aposs degree is desirable.
Education at a reputable university is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of global commercial laws, trade regulations, and industry
specific compliance requirements;

-SAP-ARIBA experience is preferred. Contract-related certifications are desirable (CPCM, CFCM, CIPS, ISM, etc.).
