Senior Maintenance Design Engineer

• Achieve the best maintenance performance (maintainability) for the assigned system scope.
• Draft requirements for products and support services related to the area of study.

KEY ACTIVITIES

With specialized knowledge in support, the Senior Maintenance Design Engineer's responsibilities include conducting maintainability and maintenance studies to ensure aircraft maintainability and availability at a controlled cost, focusing on customer satisfaction.

Maintainability Studies:

• Advocate for and defend maintenance requirements during design/review phases to achieve optimal accessibility, disassembly, reparability, and testability as specified by the customer and/or the company (Program Management).
• Share expertise in support and customer practices with other departments and divisions.
• Continuously seek compromise with the design office, production, and procurement in an extended design office approach.
• Verify that support requirements are considered in the design of the aircraft and the support system.
• Participate in reviews/visits (VAMOM) at all stages of aircraft/equipment design validation.

Maintenance Studies:

• Define maintenance tasks for systems and equipment within the scope, based on established methods (MSG-3, Engineering Procedures, LORA, diagnostics, etc.).
• Analyze the most suitable maintenance solutions for each client/fleet to meet set objectives, applying the chosen support concept.
• Identify maintenance operations (scheduled maintenance, corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis data).
• Develop maintenance, testing, and validation procedures and validate them according to airworthiness maintenance standards.
• Generate product and support service requirements (support tools, documentation, training, etc.) for development departments.
• Test and functionally validate support products and services, ensuring alignment with maintenance study updates (configuration management).
• Validate the physical definition of spare parts during Spare Delivery Technical Specification reviews.
• Provide technical validation of new maintenance components.

For Aircraft in Service:

• Analyze feedback and technical issues related to maintenance within the scope (including front-line technical support).
• Define solutions to maintain operational conditions and improve support.
• For Falcon Service Bulletins (SB), conduct studies to modify aircraft for integrating updates specified by the SB.
• Participate in aging and performance studies, choose inspection methods, and carry out inspections. Conclusions can impact the maintenance plan. When implementing these studies at the customer site, adapt the scope of the study and respond to user requests, ensuring compromise and customer satisfaction within the area of expertise.

As a Focal Point:

• Act as the entry point for internal and external entities for technical topics related to the service.
• Allocate tasks within the team based on Program priorities and milestones, as requested by the service manager.
• Conduct periodic progress meetings to track work (technical and budgetary) progress.
• Contribute to the coherence of the service's work with other focal points and the maintenance study manager.
• Provide technical support to specialists if needed.
• Delegate from the service manager, validate the work of specialists.
• Participate in cost estimates for new developments requested by the program.
