About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai within the Food and Beverage Department in Dubai, the Assistant Breakfast Manager is responsible to support the Breakfast Manager in all related operational, administrative and financial aspects of the outlet and assumes full responsibility in his/her absence.

The Assistant Breakfast Manager reports to the Restaurant Manager.

As an Assistant Breakfast Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support the Breakfast Manager in all operational, administrative, and financial tasks, including supervising shifts, managing reservations, and ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Oversee daily outlet operations, taking full charge in the manageru2019s absence while maintaining a clean, well-maintained, and guest-ready environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service teams, monitor service quality and guest feedback, and ensure menus, POS systems, and grooming standards are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in staffing functions such as preparing rosters, monitoring leave, training team members, and handling disciplinary actions in line with company procedures.
  • Actively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, address complaints, and create memorable experiences, especially for VIPs, by promoting a culture of excellence and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by supporting promotional activities, observing industry trends and competitors, and participating in meetings to drive continuous improvement.
As an Assistant Breakfast Manager, we expect from you
  • High school qualification is required; a degree or diploma in hospitality, hotel, or business management is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 yearsu2019 experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager in a luxury hotel or high-end independent restaurant.
  • International work experience in at least two regions (Asia, Europe, North America), with preference for Middle East exposure and restaurant pre-opening experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand guest expectations and effectively lead and motivate the team.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP, competent in MS Office, and skilled in effective communication across all organisational levels.
  • Strong training abilities, with excellent English communication skills; proficiency in Arabic or other languages is an added advantage.
