As the Construction Manager (Rail Systems), you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of a rail infrastructure project in UAE.
You will be overseeing contractors rail system construction activities to ensure they comply with Project requirements. You will monitor quality, progress, safety and interface coordination between civil and system packages, providing technical guidance, issuing approvals and ensuring the project is delivered according to specification, budget and schedule.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to lead System team to deliver the project within agreed timescale and performance parameters. Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement.
Representing the employer in technical discussion with various contractors and government agencies and all other stakeholders and managing the internal interface between client and the project team.
Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities are- Supervise and manage day-to-day rail system construction works carried out by the D&B contractor and ensure that the work is aligned with approved design, specifications and quality standards.
- Review construction method statements, Inspection & Test plan and Material submissions for system work such as
- Signalling and Train control system.
- Communication Systems.
- SCADA and Control systems
- Power Systems
- Security Systems (CCTV and ACS)
- Ensure coordination between system and Civil contractor, especially for interface points.
- Interface with railway operator for any brown field activities.
- Integration and Interface of Multi-disciplinary systems.
- Arrange regular site inspections and technical meetings to review construction status and interface management.
- Verify progress against construction schedule and report delays, risk and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations on site. Oversee and enforce strict safety protocols to create a secure work environment for all project stakeholders.
- Monitor quality assurance/quality control practices during the system installation. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of construction are maintained.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, NCRs etc.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including client, to ensure seamless project execution.
- * Bachelors degree in Electrical, Communication or System Engineering.
- 15+ years of experience in Construction Management for railway system projects.
- Prior experience working on behalf of consultant, client or PMC.
- In depth understanding of rail systems installation, sequencing and interface challenges.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong leadership and exceptional management skills towards client, team and project.
