Financial Controller - E-Commerce
Job Description
Title: Financial Controller - (E-commerce experience is a MUST)Location: Dubai
Salary: up to 36K AED
The Financial Controller (E-Commerce) is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the
companys global DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) business, including owned platforms such as Shopify. This role will manage the financial performance of the E-Commerce channel, working closely with cross-functional teams (Digital, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations) to ensure profitability, efficiency, and compliance.The controller will support monthly closing, lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, and provide in-depth financial insights to guide decision-making and drive the continued growth of the E-Commerce business globally.
This individual will report to the Director of Finance and be a key partner to the E-Commerce team for our client.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
E-Commerce Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the DTC business, including P&L,balance sheet, and cash flow statements specific to our client
Own the monthly close process , ensuring accurate revenue recognition, cost
tracking, and reconciliations.
Analyze sales performance by SKU, market, and identify growth drivers or risks.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the budgeting and reforecasting process for the E-Commerce division, collaborating
with Digital, Marketing, and Logistics teams.
Build and maintain rolling forecasts, identifying variances against actuals and budget, with
clear commentary and insights.
Track CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), LTV (Lifetime Value), AOV (Average Order Value),and other key DTC performance metrics.
Business Partnering:
Act as a financial advisor to E-Commerce leadership, helping shape commercial strategy
through financial insights.
Partner with digital and performance marketing teams to evaluate the ROI of campaigns,promotions, and channel spend.
Collaborate with supply chain and logistics to monitor fulfillment costs, shipping rates, and
Shopify Integration & Data Accuracy:
Ensure accurate integration between Shopify, ERP, and finance systems.
Support reconciliation of orders, payments, and refunds across payment gateways (e.g.,Stripe, PayPal, Amazon Pay).
Improve reporting from Shopify and analytics platforms to produce actionable, finance-ready
dashboards.
Requirements
10+ years in financial management (preferably beauty and/or luxury experience)
Strong understanding of cosmetics industry financial practices, including inventory
management and product costing, etc is a plus
Bachelor&aposs degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a master&aposs degree or relevant
certification is a plus
Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel
Strong understanding of Shopify and its integrations with ERP and finance systems.
Proven ability to manage large volumes of transactional data with attention to detail and
accuracy.
Audit background is highly appreciated
