Job Title: Operations Director

Company: Seagull Maritime Ltd

Role Overview:

The Operations Director will lead and oversee all global operational activities from Seagull Maritime, ensuring the effective delivery of maritime security, Private Maritime Security Company (PMSC) services, risk management, and offshore support operations across multiple high-risk regions.

This role is responsible for translating corporate strategy into operational execution, ensuring seamless coordination of security deployments, intelligence-led operations, crisis response, and compliance frameworks across the company's international footprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Global Operations Leadership
  • Direct and manage multi-regional maritime and PMSC operations from the Malta HQ
  • Execute operational strategy aligned with corporate objectives and client requirements
  • Ensure operational readiness across high-risk regions (e.g., West Africa, Middle East, Indian Ocean)
  1. Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
  • Oversee delivery of core services, including:
  • Maritime security (armed and unarmed protection teams – PMSC operations)
  • Risk assessment and mitigation
  • Crisis response and emergency operations
  • Fisheries protection and offshore support
  • Maritime intelligence and digital solutions
  • Maintain high service standards, SLAs, and client satisfaction across all operations
  1. Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime and PMSC regulations, including IMO guidelines, flag state, and port state control requirements
  • Lead implementation of company-wide risk management and security frameworks
  • Oversee incident response, investigations, and reporting protocols
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, code of conduct, and HSE standards
  1. Malta HQ Coordination & Governance
  • Lead global operations from Malta as the central coordination hub
  • Liaise with European stakeholders, flag registries, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Support corporate governance, audits, and compliance reporting requirements
  1. Resource & Fleet Management
  • Oversee deployment of personnel, security teams, escort vessels, and operational assets
  • Manage logistics, supply chain coordination, and mobilization planning
  • Drive cost efficiency, budgeting, and financial control across operational activities
  1. Intelligence & Technology Integration
  • Champion intelligence-led operations and real-time situational awareness
  • Integrate surveillance systems, tracking tools, and maritime data platforms
  • Support development of digital and analytics-driven operational capabilities
  1. Stakeholder & Client Engagement
  • Act as senior operational point of contact for global clients and partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with shipping companies, insurers, offshore operators, and PMSC stakeholders
  • Support commercial teams in tenders, proposals, and contract execution
  1. Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global operations team
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee workforce planning, training, and performance management

Key Requirements:

Experience:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in maritime operations, offshore security, or risk management
  • Proven leadership in global or multi-regional operational environments
  • Strong background in high-risk operations and crisis management
  • Mandatory experience within Private Maritime Security Company (PMSC) operations preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Security Management, or related field
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred
