This opportunity is part of our exclusive 2025 Graduate Program, where you will gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in road design and engineering.
Role overview
As a Graduate Highways Engineer at AECOM, you will be a key member of our Highways team, working on impactful road design projects and gaining exposure to essential design software such as AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Key responsibilities- Assist senior engineers in preparing scope of works documents and project design criteria.
- Apply Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures to ensure sound and coordinated design across disciplines.
- Gain experience in road design, including plans, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and signage.
- Utilize PowerPoint to create presentations and progress reports.
- Demonstrate strong communication and technical report writing skills.
- Develop proficiency in road design software.
- Familiarity with engineering standards, codes of practice, and local authority guidelines is advantageous.
What we're looking for
We are seeking a motivated graduate who:
- Is passionate about road design and engineering.
- Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Is proficient in design software or willing to learn.
- Has a keen attention to detail and a desire to deliver high-quality work.
- Has previous consultancy road design internship experience (a plus).
- Is available to start: September 2025 (earlier start requests can be accommodated).

Qualifications
Minimum requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with courses taken in roads/highways related subjects from an accredited university.
- Candidates must be recent 2024 or 2025 graduates to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.
- Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.8 (or equivalent) and above.
- As part of AECOM’s commitment to Emiratisation and in compliance with UAE labour law, only UAE Nationals with a family book will be considered for this role.
