What does a Marketing Executive do

A Marketing Executive plays a crucial role in any marketing team. Responsible for the development and execution of marketing collateral, these junior marketers help build brand awareness and customer relationships. Working closely with sales and marketing teams, this role has a great opportunity to work across a variety of skills, including PR, brand, website and social media.

Key responsibilities

Job opportunities will be different based on the industry, business and marketing team structure. Nevertheless, the typical responsibilities will include:

  • Execute the marketing strategy: Support in the planning and execution of the marketing strategy. This includes marketing activity across events, web, social media, email, content creation and PR.
  • Updating marketing collateral: Assist in updating online and offline marketing materials, including websites, presentations, brochures and thought leadership.
  • Ensure brand consistency: Work closely with different areas of the business and third-party marketing agencies to ensure clear, cohesive branding.
  • Distribute content: Decide on the right channels to distribute content. You might also have a focus on maintaining the CRM database.
  • Social media management: Manage the business&apos social media accounts, responding to customers in the brand tone of voice. Depending on team structure and whether there&aposs a dedicated Social Media Manager, Marketing Executives may be responsible for the social media strategy.
  • Reporting: Collect, analyse and report on the success of marketing campaigns, activities and channels.
  • Support on marketing activity: Provide broader administrative support where needed.
