About Your Team
You'll be part of a focused factory operations unit and work in close coordination with procurement and production teams. Your work will ensure materials like timber, hardware, and consumables are readily available, well-managed, and securely stored to support seamless workflow across the joinery facility.
Your Role
As a Stores Controller, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming materials and tools
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all items in the store
- Issuing materials to production as per job orders and ensuring timely availability
- Monitoring stock levels and notifying procurement for replenishments
- Keeping the store area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Maintaining accurate records of stock movements using inventory software or manual logs
- Conducting periodic stock counts and reconciliation
- Coordinating with suppliers and logistics for material deliveries
- Ensuring secure storage of high-value or sensitive items
- Following waste management practices for damaged or expired materials
- Complying with company policies and health & safety regulations
- Performing any additional duties as assigned by your manager in line with business needs
What We're Looking For
Experience- 7+ years experience in a similar stores or inventory control role
- Experience in a joinery or manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Inventory and stock control systems
- Timber, hardware, and consumable materials used in joinery
- Safe storage and manual handling practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Forklift operation certification (desirable)
- Familiarity with inventory management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Physical fitness for manual handling
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency
