Job description
We are seeking a visionary and innovative Associate Director - Urban Designer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this leadership role, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of urban landscapes in one of the most dynamic regions in the world.As an integral part of our organization, you will lead and inspire a team of talented designers while collaborating with stakeholders to create sustainable, smart, and culturally sensitive urban environments.
- Lead and manage complex urban design projects from concept to completion
- Develop and present innovative urban design strategies and master plans
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and environmental specialists
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence
- Engage with clients, government officials, and community stakeholders to ensure project success
- Integrate sustainable design principles and smart city concepts into urban planning initiatives
- Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in urban design and planning
- Contribute to business development efforts and proposal writing
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices in urban design
- Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
- Professional certification in urban planning or design (e.g., AICP, CNU-A)
- 15+ years of experience in urban design or a related field
- Proven track record of leading large-scale urban development projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS software
- Strong project management and team leadership skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Experience with sustainable urban development and smart city concepts
- Knowledge of Middle Eastern urban planning and cultural context
- International project experience preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
- Innovative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel as required for project site visits and client meetings
