Airworthiness Officer - UAE National

Synopsis

The Airworthiness Officer (AWO) is responsible to the respective Quality Assurance Manager for monitoring and processing all the airworthiness related functions within the Etihad Quality department. AWO will be responsible for producing reports at a period defined by the respective QA managers to define the status of the engineers, line station approvals, etc.

within the Quality Assurance Department.

Responsibilties:

  • Accepts, reviews and processes all Etihad company authorisations ensuring that all applications are correctly and completely filled in, this includes scheduling of monthly QA Board. Preparing all Etihad authorisations for final review and signature by the relevant QA manager.
  • Manages the authorisations database to ensure that all data is current and accurate. Ensures that Etihad authorisation holders are notified of any aspect of their license that will cause it to be invalidated in sufficient time to allow for it to be renewed prior to the expiry date.
  • Ensures that any manual/document request has undergone the correct approval process prior to its publication and that quality control has been conducted on the document’s layout, format and contents to conform with Safety & Quality Management System requirements and in compliance with regulatory authorities and Etihad quality standards.
  • Prepares statistics for Safety Review Board, Post Holder Meetings, Safety Action Groups, Monthly Safety Statistics
  • Prepares reports at a period defined by HQA-T/relevant QA manager within the Quality Assurance Department. Reports include but not limited to the following: MEL Extensions, One-Off approvals, Certifying Staff authorisation status. Notifications are then sent to the GCAA and concerned departments.
Accountabilities
  • Manages applications for issue and renewal of GCAA and other regulatory authority AMO approvals. This includes coordination with third parties including EY Eng and Finance to ensure that all required and financial requirements are compiled accurately and on time. The AWO must understand the technical requirements necessary for the application to ensure accuracy.
  • Management of 3rd party operator approvals and respective NAA applications and extension and managing the line station technical handling maintenance organisation list and NAA/customer’s requirements.
  • Manages and controls the Quality Management database (including AMOS and INTELEX) to ensure that all airworthiness related data is current, and accurate. Monitor the database to produce forecasts of all airworthiness due dates.
  • Manages Engineers licenses and QA company authorisations which includes management of qualifications and training database (AMOS) for all engineers in AUH and Etihad manned line stations. This includes but not limited to acceptance process, and review of all GCAA license requirements, liaison with the applicant to ensure all applications are accurate and completely compiled, as well as communicating any examination dates or application rejections the applicant and follow up with GCAA and candidates. As required, processes the requisition of any associated funds for the license applications to the GCAA.

Education & Experience

Education required:

University Degree Minimum of 7-year airline industry experience Including at least 2 years in Quality Assurance handling engineers licenses / company authorizations / airworthiness related documentation or equivalent.
