Job Description
Position : EPPI HSE Inspector
Job Objective
To support, guide, and conduct inspections for the effective implementation and monitoring of the HSE Management System (HSE-MS) at EPPI, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a safe and sustainable work environment.
Key Accountabilities
HSE Inspection:
Responsibilities
Ensures the effective implementation and monitoring of EPPI's HSE management systems to maintain compliance with company policies and government regulations. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as the primary HSE contact within the facility, providing leadership and technical support on HSE programs.
- Embedding health, safety, and environmental best practices into daily factory operations.
- Engaging with shop floor employees to assess daily activities, identify potential hazards, and implement preventive measures.
- Overseeing waste management, interpreting environmental regulations, and developing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Driving factory safety initiatives through promotional materials, awareness campaigns, and safety posters.
- Compiling and reporting documented HSE performance data to EPPI management and the corporate office (TABREED) as required.
HSE Audits
Conducts HSE audits / inspections and recommends corrective action for continual improvement. Monitor the close-out of recommended corrective actions with stakeholders by maintaining relevant records.
HSE Risk Assessment
Reviews and conducts Risk Assessments for manufacturing activities, ensuring the effective implementation of hazard control measures and monitoring compliance.
HSE Incident Investigation
Investigates accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and contributing factors, and submits detailed reports to Management.
HSE Induction & Emergency Drills
Delivers HSE inductions for new employees and conducts training sessions on standard operating procedures to ensure compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
Plans, conducts, and participates in emergency drills, evaluating response effectiveness and recommending improvements to enhance the EPPI's emergency preparedness.
EPPI Policies & Procedures
Follows all relevant Department/Unit policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Ensuring the organization adheres to legal frameworks in areas such as discipline & grievance, redundancy, and employment law.
EPPI- Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environmental attitude.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a Bachelor of Science from a recognized university, and relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH -IGC.
3+years of relevant industry experience in a similar Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing sector.
