Reports To: HSE Manager / Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The HSE Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all health, safety, and environmental aspects within port operations. This role ensures compliance with local and international HSE regulations, port safety standards, and company policies. The supervisor will actively support safe working practices, conduct risk assessments, enforce safety policies, and promote a culture of safety across all port-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce HSE regulations in all port operations including cargo handling, vessel operations, transport, and terminal work.
• Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHA, IMO, local port authority regulations).
• Develop and deliver safety induction programs and toolbox talks for port workers, contractors, and visitors.
• Maintain safety records, incident reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and procedures; act as on-scene coordinator when required.
• Identify unsafe practices, provide corrective actions, and follow up on implementation.
• Liaise with port authorities, contractors, and internal departments on HSE matters.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and lead by example on-site.

Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor&aposs Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Certifications: NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification (mandatory).
• Experience:
• Minimum 3-5 years of HSE experience in port, marine, or logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of port safety procedures, crane operations, vessel safety, and hazardous materials handling.
• Skills:
• Good knowledge of HSE legislation and industry best practices.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Valid UAE HSE work permit or safety card (if applicable).
• First Aid, Fire Safety, or Emergency Response training certificates.
• Knowledge of incident investigation tools (e.g., RCA, HAZOP, HIRA).
