Project Controls Engineer

Job purpose
To assist in performing activities in the Project Controls section in line with planning and cost control and overall DCT strategy. Proactively, assist and report in the area of evaluation of contractor schedule, milestone list, project schedule updates, and to support project completion dates for all DCT CAPEX projects.
Key accountabilities
Project controls assignments- Assist in the preparation of master schedules for all DCT capital projects, including but not limited to Level 1 / Level 2 design, procurement and construction schedule and key milestones list for each project.
- Evaluate and analyze contractor/consultant bidding schedules, design schedules, construction baseline schedules and schedule updates throughout project life cycle.
- Assist in developing progress reports in order to provide regular updates on projects' status, schedule, cost and risks, and report to project controls manager.
- Track overall project status and give recommendation and corrective action where necessary to project controls manager.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly portfolio reports for senior project controls engineer review, outlining projects' KPIs with respect to completion dates, progress rates and areas of concern for discussion.
- Review the weekly and monthly reports for various projects provided by contractor/consultant in order to ensure all data and progress reports are accurate and matching with the project controls procedure of DCT.
- Attend the weekly progress meetings for various CAPEX projects in order to ensure proper monitoring and controlling of work progress.
- Follow all relevant section policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Collaboration
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Project Controls section in order to facilitate flow of information and also to build awareness in those areas.
Day-to-day assignments- Follow the day-to-day assignments set by the line manager in the Project Controls section to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high-quality outputs.
- Report on a regular basis to Project Controls Section Manager on the operational activities of the Project Controls section, its challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation.
- Inform and update the line manager on the Project Controls section's activities.
- Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Change management
Support the creation of culture susceptible to change management through a "hands-on" and "can-do" approach to DCT's new business opportunities, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviors.

Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience- 2 years of experience in planning/project controls role; preferably in a similar role in the development or construction industry.
