Dubai - Maintenance Director

Job description

This role is critical to maintaining the functionality, safety, and efficiency of all physical assets across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all facilities, systems, and equipment.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the maintenance team to ensure high performance and accountability.
• Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
• Manage maintenance budgets including forecasting, cost control, and procurement of parts and services.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with other departments for facility-related needs and improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, inspections, repairs, and inventory.
• Plan and supervise facility upgrades, renovations, or expansions.
• Develop and implement emergency response and contingency plans for facility operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7 years of progressive experience in facility and equipment maintenance with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical documents.

Preferred qualifications:

• Certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or similar.
• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, education, hospitality).
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management.
