Job purpose:

The Senior Non-Motor Claims Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Non-Motor Claims team based in Dubai, overseeing Property, Engineering & Construction, Marine, Liability, Financial Lines claims. The role also provides technical support to the Bahrain Fast Claims Team handling Home, PA, Travel, and Workers Compensation claims

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Non-Motor Claims team, ensuring high performance, strong technical capability, and adherence to governance standards.
  • Exercise final decision-making authority on complex, high-value, or sensitive claims, ensuring sound judgment and alignment with company guidelines.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end Technical Claims Management for Property, Engineering & Construction, Marine, Liability and Financial Lines LOBs.
  • Provide strategic technical oversight and direction to the Fast Claims Team in Bahrain to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across regions.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders including brokers, legal firms, loss adjusters, surveyors, and investigators.
  • Collaborate proactively with Underwriting, Reinsurance, Finance, and Legal teams to support portfolio performance, loss ratio improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and drive recovery strategies (e.g., salvage, subrogation) to improve claims cost management and financial outcomes.
  • Ensure the claims function comply with regulatory frameworks, audit requirements, and internal governance standards.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper and timely reserving across all claim LOBs, maintaining accuracy, financial control, and alignment with actuarial requirements.
  • Monitor operational discipline and compliance within the claims handling process, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Support the team in handling complex claims by providing expert guidance, validation, and escalation management.
  • Maintain consistent documentation quality, including accurate claim file updates, communication logs, and reporting.
  • Facilitate seamless communication with customers and intermediaries to support service excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee provider performance (loss adjusters, legal firms, investigators) to ensure quality service, timely outputs, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing management reports, analyses, dashboards, and insights related to claims trends and portfolio behaviour.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Law, Insurance, or a related discipline
  • Min 15 years experience in handling Property, Casualty, Engineering, Construction, Marine and Liability claims
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, policies and regulations related to Non-Motor claims
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with policyholders, providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate complex settlements with claimants or legal representatives.
  • Deep knowledge of legal principles related to insurance claims, including relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents
