Description
Decontaminates, assembles, processes, sterilizes, maintains and distributes surgical instruments and suppliesGuidelines of International Patient Safety Goals and evidence based practice are adhered to
Stock and equipment are managed and controlled according to hospital policy
Departmental standards for quality and productivity are maintained
Relevant CSSD reports and statistics are compiled and submitted according to requirements
Professional ethics, Mediclinic values and caring standards are demonstrated in behavior
Requirements
Completion of Higher Secondary School OR Associate Degree in a health related field with emphasis on microbiology AND Certified Central Sterile Services (CSS) training program from one of the following:- Certification by the Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution ( CBSPD) USA
- International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM)
Minimum 2 years experience in the field of Central Sterile Supply Department as a technician
Must maintain certified status throughout the duration of employmentKnowledge of General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Obs & Gyne surgical instrumentation
Working knowledge of microbiology, infection control principles, sterilization practices and inventory management
Good interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of computer applications
