The Tax Senior Manager will oversee tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting processes in alignment with VAT and Corporate Tax regulation. The role involves managing the reconciliation of tax accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the Head of Tax in maintaining compliance with VAT, corporate tax, and other applicable taxation requirements.

Responsibilities:

New Product review
  • Support Head of Tax and Transformation Project with MoF VAT e-invoicing project
  • Review of new Business Requirement Documents and document taxation of new products
  • Lead Credit note Phase III project
  • Support the Finance Transformation initiatives.
Tax Control and Reconciliation
  • Manage the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts related to taxation
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in the tax reconciliation processes.
  • Assist Head of Tax with implementation of controls and processes to enhance the accuracy of tax records and transaction reports
  • Support internal and external audits related to tax matters.
  • Provide insights into tax risks and opportunities based on reconciliation data.
  • Part of the new product approval process and system set up review.
  • Continuously drive improvements and efficiencies of the existing tax processes
  • Optimization of current monthly tax reporting process
System oversight and control
  • Resolve any tax code tagging issues in the core banking system and source systems
  • Reconciliation of transaction reports to the GL and remediation of any gaps
  • Liaise with the department, business units, technology team on an ongoing basis for tax projects and various implementation initiatives
UAE CIT and Tax Reporting
  • Review monthly corporation tax accruals and journals
  • Ensure tax accounts are reconciled
  • Assist auditors with queries in relation to tax disclosures
  • Preparation of UAE CIT tax journals (CT and DT) and calculation of uncertain tax positions
  • Preparation of documentation and data necessary for UAE CIT elections
  • UAE CIT compliance oversight of CBD Tax Group on EmaraTax
  • Collate data necessary for filing of UAE Corporation tax returns
Technical Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, ESR & CbCR Advisory
  • Partnering business stakeholders in charting of tax accounting for new product launches.
  • Assist Head of Tax with preparation of tax advice and direction to the business units, including review of tax provisions in legal agreements
Governance and Transformation
  • Assist Head of Tax with update of Group Corporation Tax Policy and Procedures
  • Work with business to identify Tax savings opportunities.
  • Prepare report on the Tax activities with particular reference to the benefits generated.
  • Continuously drive improvements and efficiencies in the tax reporting and controls functions.

Requirements:

Qualifications
  • Chartered accountant with strong reconciliation background and experience in financial services
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax compliance, reconciliation and transformation projects
  • Knowledge of finance, commercial and accounting concepts, processes and procedures.
Skills
  • Highly computer literate individual with attention to detail

  • Good report writing and presentation skills
