Structural Design Engineer

Job Description

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will come from a reputable engineering consultancy background with a proven track record in designing complex, tall structures and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the structural design process for high-rise buildings, from concept and schematic stages to detailed design and construction documentation.
• Perform advanced structural analysis, modeling, and calculations to ensure optimal structural performance and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and review structural design reports, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to integrate structural solutions seamlessly into overall project design.
• Conduct peer reviews and provide technical input on designs prepared by consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements and codes.
• Ensure adherence to UAE and international building codes (BS, ACI, Eurocodes, etc.) and local authority regulations.
• Evaluate alternative structural systems, materials, and innovative technologies to improve efficiency and sustainability.
• Support value engineering initiatives during the design phase to optimize cost and performance without compromising safety.
• Provide limited site support during construction to clarify design-related queries and ensure execution aligns with the approved design intent.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
• Minimum 812 years of proven experience in structural design for high-rise buildings, preferably within a reputable consultancy environment.
• Advanced proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard structural design tools.
• In-depth knowledge of international design standards and UAE building regulations.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and innovative problem-solving ability.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for working within multidisciplinary teams.
• RERA/Dubai Municipality approval (advantage).
