Job Description

A Plumbing Site Engineer is a professional responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems on construction sites. This role typically involves managing the day-to-day operations of plumbing tasks, ensuring that plumbing works are carried out according to plans, regulations, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Design Review:
• Review and understand plumbing plans and designs for construction projects.
• Work with architects and other engineers to ensure the plumbing system is designed to meet the needs of the building and local codes.
• Installation and Supervision:
• Supervise the installation of pipes, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components.
• Ensure that installation is performed according to the design, manufacturer's instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Quality Control and Compliance:
• Ensure that all plumbing works comply with local building codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Inspect plumbing systems and components to ensure proper functioning and to identify any defects or issues.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions in plumbing systems during construction and handover stages.
• Oversee the maintenance and testing of plumbing systems to ensure their functionality.
• Coordination with Other Teams:
• Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and project managers to coordinate the plumbing work with other building systems (e.g., electrical, HVAC).
• Ensure that plumbing work is integrated seamlessly into the overall construction process and timeline.
• Safety Management:
• Ensure safety protocols are followed on site, particularly with regard to handling plumbing materials and tools.
• Implement procedures to minimize risks such as leaks, flooding, or contamination from the plumbing system.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Keep accurate records of plumbing installations, inspections, and repairs.
• Report progress to the construction manager and address any issues that arise on-site.
