Senior Accountant

Job Description

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with solid experience in real estate development and construction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of project-based accounting, escrow account management, and UAE financial compliance, including VAT and corporate tax.

You will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance while supporting management in financial planning and project reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle WPS payroll, VAT filing, and ensure full compliance with UAE corporate tax regulations.
• Manage and reconcile real estate escrow accounts in compliance with RERA and local authority requirements.
• Track and monitor project costs, progress billing, subcontractor payments, and budget variances.
• Support cash flow management, budget preparation, and financial forecasting.
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and external partners.
• Ensure all accounting records and documentation are maintained properly.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Apply AML (Anti-Money Laundering) awareness and compliance in all financial transactions (knowledge of AML regulations is an advantage).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred).
• 710 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in real estate development or construction in the UAE.
• Proven experience in escrow account handling and project accounting.
• Strong understanding of UAE VAT, corporate tax, and WPS regulations.
• Knowledge of AML compliance is an advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho, or ERP systems).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
