INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to design, program, maintain, and optimize control systems for our critical infrastructure.
The role involves managing PLC-based automation for chillers, dry coolers, and related equipment, as well as implementing and maintaining communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, and BACnet to monitor and control the entire facility.
You will work closely with the mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operation of our systems, while also developing automation strategies to enhance performance, reduce energy consumption, and improve monitoring capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Maintenance
Develop, configure, and maintain PLC logic for the control of chillers, dry coolers, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
Implement interlocks, alarms, and fail-safe logic to ensure system reliability and safety. Industrial Communication & Integration
Configure and troubleshoot Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, and BACnet communication between devices, BMS, and SCADA systems.
Integrate third-party equipment into the automation network. System Monitoring & Optimization
Design and implement monitoring dashboards (SCADA/HMI) for real-time performance tracking and alarm management.
Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for energy optimization and predictive maintenance. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain up-to-date wiring diagrams, network topologies, and control logic documentation.
Ensure systems comply with applicable safety and operational standards. Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve control system faults and communication issues.
Provide on-call support for critical system events.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical field.
Must be fluent in both French & English
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in HVAC, data center, or building services applications.
Strong experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, or equivalent).
Proficiency in industrial communication protocols: Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet.
Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI systems and data acquisition.
Familiarity with HVAC control strategies and energy management best practices.
Strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software environments.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, industrial plants, etc.).
Knowledge of VFD integration and control over Modbus/BACnet.
Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control system
