About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking an Entertainment Technical Director Audio Visual to join the resorts Executive Office team.
The Primary Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Are- Lead and mentor AV and entertainment teams across theatre, nightclub, performance lake, day club, and convention centre venues.
- Oversee guest-facing entertainment delivery including show production, technical setups, visual/audio programming, and backstage operations.
- Manage the full lifecycle of entertainment technical equipment including design, production, maintenance, inventory, and asset management.
- Direct sound, projection, and lighting design, including use of 3D projections, robotics, holography, and advanced control systems.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety procedures for rigging, flying systems, and aerial show equipment.
- Maintain high standards for setup, programming, inspection, and presentation of AV systems and production environments.
- Support creative teams with technical feasibility and mock up preparation for new show concepts and events.
- Oversee performance lake operation and control systems including synchronization of multimedia elements.
- Raise procurement requests, manage departmental budgets, and control payroll and expenditure records.
- Create and monitor quality assurance standards for storage, setup, and audiovisual servicing.
- Ensure all AV operations align with international safety codes, UAE regulations, and Wynn safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain risk mitigation strategies for high-risk activities (e.g. rigging, aerial performances).
- Conduct regular inspections, safety drills, and equipment audits.
- Document SOPs for AV setup, technical delivery, safety practices, and quality control.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, performance, and operational efficiency.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field such as Audio Engineering, Technical Theatre, or Production Design.
- Industry certifications in AV system control, safety rigging, projection technology, or similar fields are desirable.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing technical production in theatre, conventions, or special events.
- Experience in luxury resorts or five-star entertainment venues is highly advantageous.
- Expert knowledge of AV networking and control systems such as Navigator CSC, QLab, Crestron, GRMS, DALI, DMX.
- Proficiency in lighting, laser, holography, animation, and control programming tools (ETC, C++, PLC).
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and AV control systems software.
- Fluent in English (spoken/written); Arabic is an advantage.
