Sr. Procurement Officer
Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
Supervise and coordinate the procurement of raw materials, excluding metals, in the most efficient and economical manner in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials to meet the manufacturing requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES
Purchasing Strategy- Provide input in the preparation of and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services for smooth running of business and overall operations of the purchasing department
- Implement all section policies, processes and procedures
- Implement the section budgets and work plans
- Participate in initiatives for innovation and continuous improvement in pursuit of greater productivity
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and new purchasing strategies
- Provide inputs for the preparation of accurate and timely performance reports, as required
- Prepare price graphs of raw materials to track their price trends
- Responsible for timely procurement of indirect materials and Engg. Spares in line with company policies to provide the best value to the company
- Initiate the procurement process to facilitate uninterrupted flow of materials and spare parts to meet manufacturing requirement
- Implement procurement strategies for raw materials procurement
- Supervise procurement of non-metal raw materials to ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials to meet the manufacturing requirements.
- Implement new process and procedures to ensure the most economical and efficient levels of inventories at all times
- Maintain the vendor and Materials Master database in the ERP system to provide a reference of approved vendors and service providers for monitoring their performance
- Provide inputs for configuration and specifications of the Materials Management module to meet changing procurement requirements
- Provide end user support to users of the MM and PM modules in order to timely resolve queries
- Function as Supervisor in SAP MM and PM at the back end to support the testing of enhancements of the MM and PM module
- Conduct training on the SAP MM module for new users of the module
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential: Bachelor in Supply Chain Management or Mechanical Engineering with specialised training in Purchasing and Procurement. Strong knowledge of working in an ERP environment such as using SAP (MM+PM modules). Good technical knowledge of spare parts and related materials for the cable industry.
Desirable : In-depth knowledge in computerised purchasing, inventory and asset management systems, especially on SAP MM and PM modules.Job Skills: Procurementmanagement skills, good communication and negotiation skills, multilingual skills.

Experience: 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in procurement of materials in the manufacturing cabling industry sector.
