BBM Foods is a growing food service distribution company specializing in premium fresh produce supply for the UAE market. As part of our operational expansion and ongoing FSSC 22000 certification process, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Officer to support our quality assurance, food safety, and compliance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-to-mid level candidate looking to grow within a fast-paced food distribution environment.
Position Summary
The QA Officer will support the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems across daily operations. The role will focus heavily on documentation control, SOP development, operational quality checks, shipment inspections, wastage monitoring, and compliance support related to FSSC 22000, HACCP, and occupational health & safety requirements.
The ideal candidate should be organized, proactive, and willing to work closely with operations, warehouse, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality Assurance- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of FSSC 22000 and HACCP systems
- Monitor product quality during receiving, storage, ripening, packing, and dispatch operations
- Conduct routine quality inspections on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Support investigations related to product quality issues, wastage, or customer complaints
- Monitor and report daily wastage, quality deviations, and operational non-conformities
- Ensure hygiene and food safety practices are consistently followed across operations
- Develop, update, and organize SOPs, forms, checklists, and quality records
- Maintain proper documentation for audits, inspections, and certifications
- Ensure all QA/HSE documents are controlled, updated, and easily accessible
- Assist with internal audits and preparation for external certification audits
- Organize occupational health & safety documentation and records
- Support implementation of workplace hygiene and safety procedures
- Assist in maintaining compliance with UAE food safety regulations and company standards
- Coordinate staff training records and compliance documentation
- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to maintain product quality standards
- Assist in monitoring storage temperatures, cleanliness, and operational procedures
- Support stock rotation and shelf-life management practices
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in QA/QC within food distribution, fresh produce, FMCG, or food manufacturing
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems
- Understanding of FSSC 22000 or ISO food safety standards is an advantage
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Good communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
