This role requires deep knowledge of local regulations, market dynamics, and international best practices within the food manufacturing sector in the UAE.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply Chain Planning:Develop and implement the overall supply chain strategy to align with the company's business objectives and growth plans within the UAE market.
Forecast demand and develop robust production and inventory plans to meet customer needs while minimizing waste and optimizing inventory levels.
Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks, developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
Sourcing and Procurement:
Lead the sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing vendor performance.
Stay abreast of market trends and commodity prices, proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and ethical sourcing practices.
Production Planning and Scheduling: Oversee the production planning and scheduling processes to optimize resource utilization and meet production targets.
Collaborate closely with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime.Monitor production output and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and quality.
Logistics and Distribution:
Manage all aspects of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of finished goods to customers across the UAE and potentially export markets.
Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and environmental impact.
Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and inventory management.
Inventory Management:
Implement and maintain effective inventory control systems to optimize stock levels, minimize waste (spoilage, obsolescence), and ensure product freshness.
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliations.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends and implement improvements.
Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure full compliance with all relevant UAE food safety regulations, customs procedures, and other legal requirements.
Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to supply chain processes.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.Foster a collaborative and continuous improvement culture within the supply chain function.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supply chain performance.
Analyze data and prepare regular reports on supply chain metrics, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.Present supply chain performance updates to senior management.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize the supply chain.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.Utilize data analytics and technology to drive informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a significant portion of that experience within the food manufacturing industry in the UAE.
Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end supply chain operations and driving significant improvements.
Deep understanding of food safety regulations, quality standards, and shelf-life management within the food industry in the UAE.
Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement strategies, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
Expertise in production planning, inventory management techniques, and logistics optimization.
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain management software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different departments.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
