Assistant Vice President – Sustainable Construction and Supply Chain (EMIRATI)

Job Description

This strategic role focuses on delivering innovative, commercially viable solutions to achieve the companys net zero targets, while ensuring environmental responsibility is embedded across the supply chain and construction operations.

Youll work cross-functionally with procurement, project, and sustainability teams to integrate green practices into every stage of construction, from material selection to vendor engagement. The role also involves assessing and managing environmental data to guide decision-making and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the rollout of sustainable construction and supply chain initiatives that align with long-term environmental goals.
• Integrate sustainability-focused criteria into procurement strategies and tendering processes.
• Shape and continuously improve internal policies, tools, and standards to embed ESG principles into supply chain and construction practices.
• Build and maintain intelligence on sustainable materials and products, including market economics and pricing benchmarks.
• Lead ESG capability-building programs for suppliers and contractors, helping align external partners with sustainability objectives.
• Analyze environmental performance data from construction sites, identifying trends, challenges, and actionable solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure sustainable materials are adopted and effectively integrated into execution plans.
• Evaluate the environmental impact of construction materials, focusing on carbon footprint, energy use, and waste.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to the feasibility or performance of green materials and methods.
• Spearhead pilot programs and explore emerging technologies and techniques to drive innovation in sustainable construction.
• Stay current with regulatory developments and industry standards that influence sustainability practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 6+ years of experience in sustainability, construction, or real estate.
• Bachelor&aposs degree in sustainability, engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
• Deep understanding of sustainable procurement, construction materials, and ESG supply chain practices.
• Proficiency in tools like Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
• Strong analytical thinking, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
