Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented CAD/BIM Operator to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing CAD drawings and BIM models for various infrastructure elements, particularly focused on wet and dry utility networks, road layouts, cross-sections, and details, in compliance with Abu Dhabi authority requirements.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Prepare and update detailed CAD drawings and BIM models for:
- Wet utilities: potable water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and firefighting networks
- Dry utilities: electrical, telecom, street lighting, and duct banks
- Road infrastructure: road layouts, profiles, cross-sections, junctions, and right-of-way coordination
- Ensure all drawings comply with the latest project specifications, Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) standards, and other relevant authority guidelines (ADSSC, ADDC, ITC, etc.)
- Support engineers in preparing as-built drawings, coordination drawings, and revisions based on site changes or RFIs
- Perform clash detection using BIM tools and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve interface issues
- Maintain and organize CAD/BIM drawing files, revision logs, and project folder structures for traceability
- Generate drawings and models in support of authority submissions, construction, and handover documentation
- Liaise with the site supervision team to ensure that construction drawings are current and accurate
- Assist in maintaining BIM standards and templates aligned with ISO 19650 or local BIM implementation requirements
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years of work experience partnered with a diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.- Relevant experience as a CAD/BIM Operator on roads and infrastructure projects, including at least 3 years in Abu Dhabi or the UAE
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (2D drafting)
- Civil 3D (roads, utilities modeling, profiles)
- Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley OpenRoads/OpenUtilities (preferred)
- Strong understanding of wet and dry utility layouts, road cross-sections, alignments, and construction details
- Familiar with Abu Dhabi authority documentation requirements for utility and road projects
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and authority guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail, file management, and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams
