Manager, Stand Alone & New Channels

JOB PURPOSE:

The role plays a critical role in shaping the organization's expansion into standalone convenience stores, cafes, and innovative channels. This position involves strategic planning, operational execution, and fostering partnerships to drive revenue growth and enhance customer experiences.

The manager oversees diverse business lines, including sales from trucks, e-commerce, and B2B initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities Format Definition:

  • Develop precise definitions and frameworks for standalone retail formats, such as convenience stores and cafes.
  • Collaborate with the format design team to create efficient layouts that optimize customer flow, product placement, and overall shopping experience.
  • Continuously refine formats to align with evolving consumer trends and organizational goals.

Customer Value Proposition (CVP):

  • Design and implement compelling CVPs tailored to each standalone format.
  • Ensure CVPs align with the brand identity, delivering consistent value to meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor market trends and customer feedback to adjust CVPs for sustained relevance.

Operational Execution:

  • Lead and manage all pre-opening activities, including staffing, inventory setup, and marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations during launch and throughout the lifecycle of retail outlets.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency.

New Business Lines:

  • Identify potential revenue streams and explore innovative business opportunities to diversify the portfolio.
  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies and financial analyses to evaluate the viability of new ventures.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for launching and scaling new business lines effectively.

Partnerships:

  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with external entities for joint ventures, co-branding opportunities, and distribution networks.
  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements to ensure mutual benefit and long-term collaboration.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support the growth and success of partnerships.

Sales from Trucks:

  • Develop and execute strategies for mobile sales through trucks and pop-up retail locations.
  • Optimize routes, inventory management, and customer engagement to maximize sales.
  • Analyse mobile sales performance and refine strategies for continuous improvement.

Project Management:

  • Achieve defined project-specific KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Regularly review and adjust strategies to align with organizational objectives and market dynamics.

E-commerce and Click-and-Collect:

  • Drive the organization's e-commerce initiatives to enhance online sales channels.
  • Implement efficient click-and-collect processes, ensuring a seamless experience for customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate e-commerce solutions with existing retail operations.

B2B Business Development:

  • Explore and develop B2B opportunities, including supplying products to other businesses.
  • Create competitive pricing models and negotiate contracts to secure profitable deals.
  • Build strong relationships with corporate clients to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Retail Management or a related field
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 12 of experience in retail operations, business development or related areas
  • Proven track record in retail management, business development, or related roles.
  • Previous experience as at least Regional Manager of Retail Chain or HORECA leading the team of at least 500 employees
  • Experience with format design - at least 2 realized project of new format developments for retailers or HORECA,
  • Proven operational execution track record, experience in creation of operational back-office processes
  • Experience with preferable-Commerce business
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Adaptability to changing market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and B2B sales.
