In the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll help power the future of digital infrastructure. ALEC Data Centre Solutions combines speed, security, and scalability with technical precision - and you'll be part of a team delivering mission-critical environments trusted by global tech leaders.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take the lead on managing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projectseither a small site or a significant section of a large one. From inception to completion, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly while protecting ALEC's commercial interests every step of the way.
What You'll Do- Collaborate with estimators to transition from tender to execution.
- Prepare and manage key contract documentation, insurances, guarantees, and cash flow forecasts.
- Act as the main commercial liaison with clients and consultants, ensuring all claims and final accounts are aligned and agreed upon.
- Maximise project entitlements, recover costs, and safeguard ALEC from potential liabilities and penalties.
- Oversee re-measurement, progress claims, variation assessments, and final cost estimations.
- Manage subcontractor procurementfrom tendering and negotiation to documentation and final accounts.
- Control site costs including labour, materials, plant, formwork, and general conditions.
- Monitor and report project costs against budgets, while authorising procurement and petty cash.
- Lead and mentor commercial team members, ensuring high performance and team development.
- Ensure proper contract closeout and documentation archiving.
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Experience: 15+ years in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior QS role in the Middle East.
- Professional Accreditations: MRICS or similar is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong in CCS, cost reporting, remeasurement, and contract law.
- Excellent numerical, financial, and analytical abilities
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- High-level understanding of construction processes, HSE, and regulations
- Effective team leader and mentor
