Job Description
Dr. Kinga Makovi at the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a social scientist to support a cross-country project on misinformation and AI.
The successful applicant will contribute to analyzing survey data, designing follow-up projects, and writing academic papers and reports. The qualified candidate will have a B.A. or M.A. in a social science field, with experience working with survey data, knowledge of social science experiments, and using R.This position requires excellent computational and data management skills, and a knowledge of social science research processes and practices. Exceptional candidates with a computer science background and a track record of working with social scientists and social science questions will also be considered.
Furthermore, an interest and experience in misinformation, AI, and social networks is a plus.
The anticipated start date for this position is September 1, 2025. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.
