Assistant Vice President - Environmental MGT and Circularity

Job Description

Job Purpose

Develop and implement environment management & circularity strategies across the Group, monitor implementation, assess business decisions for environmental sustainability and seek out opportunities for improving Aldar's performance in these areas across the Group.

The role is for the UAE National

Roles And Responsibilities

• Provide support to develop the environmental management & circularity strategy in line with Aldar's NZAP
• Provide support to develop and implement Energy Management Projects to reduce the consumption of energy (electricity, water, chilled water, gas etc.) across the group, including Aldar Development, Aldar Investment, Aldar Projects, Aldar Academies, Aldar Hospitality, Aldar Logistics, and Aldar Estates (including subsidiaries in all these business units)
• Provide support to develop and implement Renewable Energy Projects to expand the use of renewable energy across facilities and construction sites, with an objective to lower the overall GHG emissions.
• Develop and implement a sustainable waste management strategy across the group to divert waste from landfill while implementing a circular economy approach in all operations

• Liaise with Aldar EPMO as first point of contact from the Environmental Management & Circular Economy team
• Develop detailed project plan(s) of all environmental management & circular economy projects to track progress
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders (internal & external)
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

• Provide support to review and approve sustainability data provided by sustainability teams from Aldar Investment, Aldar Academies, Aldar Hospitality, Aldar Logistics, and Aldar Estates (including subsidiaries in all these business units) to ensure all data is submitted to group sustainability reporting team in a timely and reliable manner.

Related Years Of Experience

A minimum of 8+ years experience in Environmental Management, Project Management.

Sector Experience

Real Estate / Retail / Hospitality / Construction / Project Management

• Well versed in Environment Management (Energy Management, Renewable Energy, Environmental standards / Policies / Regulations)
• Well versed in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship
• Well versed in Financial Modelling & Analysis.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Energy / Environmental Sciences)
• Masters Degree in Engineering Management / Business Administration
• Professional Certification required i.e., PMP / CAPM
