Employment: Full Time

Job objectives

Responsible for quantifying the actual works in line with contractual terms, compare with the bid quantities, prepare and submit remeasure reports, variation proposals and invoices.

Key responsibilities

Policies, processes & procedures:

• Respect and adhere to the yard's approved policies, systems and procedures and ensure their compliance by subordinates so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Be aware of and strictly follow HSSE procedures and information security rules to ensure a safe working environment for all and protect the company's information and intellectual properties.
• Study the scope of works, contract documents and other relevant correspondences.
• Calculate man-hours for each trade for the scope specified, in line with the bidding document and/or existing norms.
• Attend meetings with client representatives and project management and visit workshop or site for verifications. Assist cost engineer to identify lump sum contractors through tendering, negotiate and agree scope and prices with them.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and prepare remeasure reports based on relevant drawings or reports from engineering or trade and submit to client as specified in the contract.
• Visit construction areas to analyse the onsite situation required for variation proposals.
• Assist cost engineer to prepare and submit additional variation proposals as requested by the cost engineer.
• Participate in discussions with client to clarify the remeasure reports or variation proposals.
• Maintain cordial relations with our client, their client and project team.
• Review lump sum subcontractors invoices to ensure their charges are in line with the agreed scope and rates.

Direction of subordinates:

• Organise and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all works are carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.

Continuous improvement:

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting:

• Prepare and submit reports to commercial departments accurately and on time to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, quality & environment:

• Strictly adhere to yard's safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment and report any non-compliance if noticed.

Related assignments:

• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed in order to contribute to the continuous functioning of the department.

Key competencies

Language skills:

• Good knowledge in written and spoken English.
• Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.

Technical competencies:

• Experience from a reputable shipyard or construction facility with vessels conversion or oil and gas constructions.
• Familiar with technical requirements related to conversion or construction scope.
• Good skills in reading and understanding drawings and use of computer or office software.

• Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in marine, mechanical or naval.
• AutoCAD or engineering drawing.
• Minimum three years' experience in a similar position from a reputable construction yard.
