Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Healthcare project experience

We are currently hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Building Services team.

The successful candidate will lead the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, medical gas, and other mechanical systems for healthcare and laboratory projects. The role requires close collaboration with architects, structural engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure high-quality, compliant, and sustainable building designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical system design from concept through detailed design and tender stage
• Prepare load calculations, system sizing, technical specifications, and design reports
• Develop BIM/Revit models and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams• Ensure compliance with UAE authorities regulations and international standards
• Support value engineering, design reviews, and project delivery activities
• Apply sustainable and energy-efficient design principles in healthcare facilities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 12+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering
• Minimum 10 years of healthcare project experience
• Strong background in HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, stormwater, sewage, irrigation, and medical gas systems
• Experience with ASHRAE standards, HTM 02-01, UAE Life & Safety Codes, and local authority regulations
• Previous consulting engineering experience is essential
• Proficiency in Revit/BIM
• Professional certifications such as PE, LEED AP, CEng, or PMP are an advantage
• Fluency in English is required
