Specialist, IT Procurement
Job Description
Objective:This position will be responsible for managing the entire procurement process for IT-related products and services. Key duties include developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, overseeing the tendering process for high-value IT projects, and executing effective category management.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in IT procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Duties:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT-related products and services.Manage the end-to-end tendering process for high-value IT projects, including preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and negotiation of contracts.Collaborate with IT and other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct supplier assessments, and manage supplier relationships to ensure high performance and compliance with contractual terms.Execute category management to optimize procurement efficiency and achieve cost savings.Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.Ensure compliance with government policies, industry regulations, and best practices in procurement.Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and supplier performance to senior management.Develop and maintain a database of preferred suppliers and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.Lead and mentor junior procurement staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Line Manager
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher, in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
Preferable to have 3 to 6 years of experience in in procurement, with a focus on IT procurement in large scale private/semi-government organization.Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent is preferred.Proven track record in managing high-value and complex IT tenders.Strong understanding of IT products, services, and market trends.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and highly controlled environment.Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in procurement transformation and category management.Knowledge of contract management and business relationship management.Familiarity with ERP systems and e-procurement tools.
