Role Overview:
The Senior Manager Events & Production leads the strategic planning and high-level execution of events and shows across all properties. This role oversees a team of managers and assistant managers, ensuring alignment with brand objectives, operational excellence, and creative vision.The Senior Manager acts as a decision-maker in resource planning, budget approvals, and vendor negotiations, while working closely with the Director to deliver landmark entertainment experiences.
Role Scope:
Strategic Planning & Leadership- Collaborates with the Director to define the long-term vision and roadmap for entertainment events and seasonal campaigns across all properties.
- Oversees the event calendar, ensuring strategic alignment with marketing, guest experience, and business goals.
- Leads the development of project briefs, resource allocation plans, and budget frameworks to support each initiative.
- Champions innovation in entertainment offerings, driving continuous improvement through post-event evaluation, trend analysis, and benchmarking.
- Responsible for managing the development of new shows and projects across the different properties.
- Monitors team workload distribution and performance, offering mentorship to managers and guidance on complex event logistics or stakeholder management
- Works with Entertainment teams and interdepartmental partners as an active participant, guaranteeing a high level of performance and production values for entertainment offerings.
- Oversees and reviews event execution plans prepared by Managers and Assistant Managers; intervenes when high-risk or high-profile issues arise
- Leads and executes entertainment special events to include marquee and seasonal celebrations, corporate functions, and other events promoted by the company.
- Supports production and events rehearsals as needed.
- Serves as the key point of contact for high-level collaboration with Marketing, Facilities, Guest Services, and third-party partners.
- Represents the Entertainment function in executive meetings, providing strategic input, reporting updates, and presenting post-event reviews.
- Reviews all major production plans for stakeholder alignment and signs off on final proposals before Director approval.
- Works hand in hand with Marketing to ensure strategic, tactical and core activations align with business objectives and KPI targets Assembles project/event production books and documentation for both working use and historical archival.
- Oversees installation, execution and de-rig of shows/events, to include hands on work as required.
- Takes part in coaching and counselling matters and provides guidance and mentorship to Entertainment colleagues to assist in developing bench strength and succession plans.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of services and products. Conduct site visits with vendors to ensure compliance with event requirements.
- Leads the development and approval of multi-event budgets, reviewing and consolidating forecasts from reporting managers. Works with Finance and Procurement to ensure budget control, cost optimization, and adherence to delegation of authority policies
- Directly supervises Managers and Assistant Managers, setting clear goals and performance expectations.
- Leads annual performance review processes, identifies training gaps, and builds succession plans in collaboration with HR.
- Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation across the Events & Production team.
- Identify and merge potential risk associated with event production, including health and safety concerns, financial risks and operational changes. Develop and implement strategies to address these risks effectively.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments by reviewing and verifying the RAMS submitted by vendors to ensure compliance with Miral standards and regulations. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of identified controls and mitigation to facilitate the Permit to Work (PTW) approval process.
Role Essentials:
- Higher Secondary or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years in theme park entertainment, events or large-scale productions
- Working knowledge of industry safety standards and codes; industry trends and vendors
- Ability to read CAD plans and related construction/design documents.
- Leadership skills; computer skills; proficiency in English
- Ability to call events and shows; report creating and distribution; schedules creation and execution; development of show/events manuals.
Role Desirables:
- Bachelors Degree in the arts, events or related fields
- Bachelors Degree in any technical Theatre discipline
- 10 years of experience in the entertainment and theme park industry
- 3 years recent experience working client-side in the events industry
