About the Company

Our client is a government-owned utility provider in UAE. They are responsible for delivering electricity and desalinated water to residents and businesses across their service region.

About the Role

This role is very crucial to ensure safe, reliable utility operations across electricity and water networks. Serves as the bridge between management and field staff, aligning engineering plans with execution.

• Oversee site operations and workforce: Supervise daily operations of plant facilities, maintenance, and distribution teams to ensure reliable electricity and water delivery.
• Manage operations staff: Direct operations technicians and contractors, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Enforce occupational safety policies, conduct site hazard assessments, and monitor compliance with international and local regulations
• Shift planning & coordination: Ensure operational continuity across shifts, coordinate handovers between teams, and support contingency planning.
• Resource management: Track and manage materials, equipment, and inventory flow to ensure efficient operations.
• Performance monitoring: Evaluate metrics like system uptime, outage response, and resource utilization; initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Incident reporting & escalation: Report operational disruptions, safety incidents, or quality deviations to the engineering or operations lead.
• Process improvement: Identify and implement operational efficiencies or automation initiatives in collaboration with engineering functions and central control.

What are we looking for

• Bachelors Degree in one of the following fields:
• Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Utility Operations or equivalent
• Diploma holders with significant field experience may be considered for junior supervisory roles.

• 510 years of experience in utility operations (electricity, water, or both), with at least 23 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Background in:

• Water distribution or desalination plants
• Electrical transmission/distribution systems
• SCADA or utility control systems
• Preventive and corrective maintenance planning
• Field crew supervision
