Senior Chief Engineer - Urban Planning Affairs

Job Description

• Submit reports on the progress of the committees and working teams under the supervision of the Higher Committee for Urban Planning
• Support the implementation of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040 with the relevant authorities and analyze the progress of work and submit periodic performance reports
• Providing technical advice on investor requests received by the Higher Committee for Urban Planning and reviewing recommendations thereon in preparation for their adjudication
• Review Urban planning legislation in coordination with stakeholders and proposing a mechanism for governance and monitoring its implementation and submitting periodic reports
• Evaluating the outputs of projects and initiatives related to urban planning and submitting periodic reports on their progress and the necessary recommendations
• Providing the necessary support to process requests received by the Grievance Committee for Urban Planning in coordination with the relevant authorities and committees
• Analysing the outputs related to development plans, strategies and policies and preparing related reports, as necessary
• Reviewing the publications of the website and all social media channels of the Department of Infrastructure Affairs and Urban Planning and files, initiatives and urban planning projects
• Reviewing the requirements for preparing the content of the meetings of the Higher Committee for Urban Planning and related committees, by preparing the speech, reviewing summaries, and reviewing the content of technical presentations
• Following up on the implementation of the plan and the main strategic objectives of the urban plan and the relevant performance indicators, projects and initiatives related to the Higher Committee for Urban Planning, and submitting related reports
• Ensure the availability and accuracy of all documents required for the meetings of His Excellency related to urban planning, including agendas, relevant documents, and work on developing strategic communication management plans with partners or stakeholders
• Work on analyzing the outputs and searching for opportunities for improvement and development and submitting relevant reports to the Director of the Department regarding strategic developments related to urban planning and related technical matters to support decision-making
• Provide specialized advice to stakeholders and assist in analysing and reviewing all reports related to the department, including technical reports related to urban planning
• Follow up on the implementation of recommendations/observations and instructions issued by the Higher Committee for Urban Planning and submitting related reports
• Preparing periodic reports on innovative results, analyses and modern technologies related to the field of urban planning and presenting them for approval by senior management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning or related fields 11 years of working experience
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)

• High degree of analytical thinking and demonstrated talent in identifying, examining, improving and simplifying multiple work procedures
• Advanced level of computer use with great proficiency in multiple programs covering a wide range of applications
• Excellent listener with the ability to communicate and convey information effectively, whether verbally or in writing
• Effective team member, intelligent, and able to enhance trust in relationships with clients and team members
• Adaptable team member to a work environment that requires the ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate concurrent projects
