The school nurse serves in a pivotal role to provide expertise and oversight for the provision of school health services. Using clinical knowledge and judgment, the school nurse provides health care to students and staff. Performs health screenings and coordinates referrals to the medical home or private healthcare provider if necessary.We are looking for a nurse to ensure our children are safe, healthy and happy in school so they can focus on amazing learning.

ISP Key Responsibilities
The School Nurse Must Undertake Various Tasks, Including- Ensure strict compliance with all procedures, protocols, and instructions as directed by the Principal.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care, including physical screening and first aid assessments for students.
- Take responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, managing, and referring student health needs appropriately.
- Conduct and document required health screening programs; notify parents when further medical evaluation is needed.
- Collaborate with the School Doctor to establish and update health and immunization records.
- Maintain accurate student clinic records and prepare necessary reports for school management.
- Administer prescribed medications and nursing care daily as directed by the students physician.
- Initiate emergency response procedures promptly for students and staff when required.
- Perform preliminary nursing assessments and assist the School Doctor with physical examinations of students.
- Educate and orient school staff on specific medical procedures and the care of medically involved students in the classroom.
- Lead training and uphold standards related to exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials within the school setting.
- Support and participate in health education initiatives across the school community.
- Always Adhere to Child Protection policies and Duty of Care requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, health department professionals, and community agencies to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain and ensure accurate data entry in the School Management System regarding student health.
- Inform parents promptly when their child visits the school clinic.
- Keep detailed logs of all student clinic visits, including name, time in/out, complaints, and outcomes (e.g., sent home).
- Notify parents in advance of routine health check-ups and vaccination schedules.
- Manage clinic supplies by maintaining records and ordering medicines, bandages, and equipment proactively.
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, hygienic, and safe at all times.
- Secure the clinic by locking it when not in use to prevent unauthorized access.
- Maintain strict security of all medications to eliminate any risk to students.
Skills, Qualifications And Experience
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications- Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Accreditation: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the Ministry of Health (MOH) or Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in community health, pediatrics, or emergency care.
- Experience in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office); familiarity with electronic medical records is an advantage.
