Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Senior Design Manager to join our team, based in Dubai, UAE.
This position is responsible for overall project responsibility for the design, quality control and client satisfaction of large and complex multiple, multidisciplinary projects.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Manages all design phases throughout project scope, including project set-up and weekly design coordination meetings.
- Plans and manages project scheduling, project staffing, project work plan, and project set-up with the project team and sub-consultants.
- Proactively identifies, assesses and mitigates design risks. Resolves problems through objective and systematic analysis.
- Collaborates with Technical Leaders and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy, and to achieve project targets.
- Ensures design standards and QAQC procedures are implemented and maintained for each of the technical areas required to complete the job, to achieve high standards of design and documentation.
- Tracks and proactively manages the performance of the design effort, e.g. work plan, schedule to ensure timely completion of the project with maximum profitability.
- Creates and communicates clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements to key stakeholders, including appropriate and complete communication with the client.
- Manages the performance of the project technical team to achieve high standards of design and documentation.
- Coordinates all KEO departments and consultants for projects under area of responsibility.
- Develops, manages and maintains effective, positive client relationships to ensure repeat business from existing clients.
- Ensures Project Terms of Reference are established, confirmed and fulfilled.
- Provides leadership to the project team and client through the proactive, engaging communication of project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule.
- Ensures proactive, up to date communication and reports to Design Leadership and Project Director in Charge regarding project status and performance.
- Prepares look-ahead reports for MD Design, Technical Directors and Technical Leaders.
- Ensures implementation of and compliance with ISO 9001 at all stages of the project to achieve technical excellence in all deliverables.
- Makes recommendations to the Technical Leaders and Project Leadership on resource needs for projects.
- Identifies and advises the Design Leadership Team about design related performance issues.
- Provides feedback and input on staff capabilities and performance to Technical Leaders.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12+ years of relevant experience, partnered with a bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering. Master preferred.- AIA or RIBA certification would be an advantage.
- Licensed as a Professional Architect or Engineer by an internationally recognized architectural or engineering association/body.
