Annual Salary: 240,000 - 260,000 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

The Provosts Fellowship Programme
Edinburgh Business School Dubai is continuing to expand and as part of our commitment to developing early career academics, we are looking for our next Provost Fellow
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious colleague who would like to join our successful School. Through the two-year Fellowship programme, we will support the development of the Fellow in relation to learning, teaching and research. The Fellow will join our Accounting, Economics & Finance Department and work collaboratively as part of the academic teams.
This programme has been designed for recent PhD graduates (or those in the nal stages of viva preparation) who do not have signicant teaching experience and are aspiring for an academic career. Our fellow will be mentored by experienced academics and will have an individual development plan.

We are looking for highly motivated and qualied candidates as part of our exciting new academic fellowships programme. Applicants must have a doctoral qualication in Accounting or Finance, and we anticipate that these roles will be most useful to the careers of those without signicant teaching experience.
These posts will allow you to develop your portfolio of teaching and research experiences which will set you up for a successful career in higher education.
Our programme
As part of our fellowship programme, we will provide a structured annual plan where you will be supported to enhance your skills across both teaching and research/scholarship. In return, you will provide our students with an excellent learning experience, collaborate with colleagues and drive forwards research.
What will you be doing
There are two broad areas they are broken down in more detail later in this document- You will undertake teaching of our undergraduate students, for candidates who have not taught before this will initially take the form of team teaching with an experienced academic colleague.
- You will work on your research in line with an agreed research plan that you will agree with your mentor.
What support will you receive
In support of teaching related activities our support includes workshops covering areas such as :
- Teaching skills
- Using technology in the workplace
- Understanding different levels of study
- Engaging students in the classroom
- How to assess student work
- Peer review of teaching and opportunity to observe colleagues
For research activities, support includes:
- Allocation to a research mentor who will support you in developing a publication plan.
- Writing for publication
- Applying for research funding
- Invitations to seminars/workshops and the opportunity to deliver your own
- Networking
- You can apply on an annual basis for funding to attend an international conference, where you have been accepted to deliver a peer reviewed paper.
- Undertake teaching and assessment duties
- Contribute to the content, design and delivery of the curriculum of our courses
- Deliver classes online to students
- Support accreditation processes
- Provide pastoral support, recognising when to refer a student for further support.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments in research
- Build and conduct research in one or more of the School&aposs research areas
- Identify and apply for a research grant
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the UK, at other campuses, and with external networks
- Support Open Days and other student recruitment events.
- Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) and participate in staff development activities.

Education & Qualications
Essential- PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline,
- A Bachelors degree from a recognised University (as an accreditation requirement for all staff)
- Fluent (verbal and written) in English
- Experience in working in culturally diverse teams
- Member of appropriate professional body
- Some experience of delivering teaching to undergraduatestudents
- Associate member of the HEA
- Experience of maintaining and developing new links with industry
