The Retail Banking Group (RBG) supports retail and micro-business customers in managing their finances, through expert advice and the provision of a full suite of specialist products and services in Shariah compliant banking. In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Digital Product Development - Manage the ideation, design and alignment of the Digital Banking product vision with diverse stakeholder groups (internal and external) ensuring alignment with Al Hilal Banks (AHBs) goals and objectives, and a strong customer orientation, for successful implementation and adherence to policies and procedures. Oversee the translation of the Digital product vision into sophisticated product roadmaps to ensure it has been broken down into value streams and metrics, translating into themes, epics and stories. Lead the development of operational, strategic and agile metrics for squad value streams to ensure successful implementation. Review competitor and customer research, and review data and feedback loops to prioritize technology and digital product delivery. Remove blockers/issues, and communicate squad performance using facts, data and evidence with squads, tribes, Platforms and Business stakeholders in order to identify improvement areas. Manage and mitigate dependencies and risks for the squad, including reducing technical debt to ensure compliance with Islamic Banking Principles.
  • Agile Product Management- Manage and coach Product Owners around product management disciplines, including product lifecycles, road mapping, value realization and risk management to ensure understanding and development. Oversee the prioritized backlog of user stories and epics in Jira, and review Product Owner backlog management in order to drive continuous improvement Coach squad and provide regular performance feedback, in line with Product Management best practice in order to identify improvement areas Liaise with other squads and Platforms in order to deliver optimal outcomes in a scaled agile model.
  • Stakeholder Management-Collaborate with prospective users and stakeholders in order to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into Digital Banking product requirements Identify and assist the stakeholder to understand the business model, value and value proposition in order to fully understand the deliverable being implemented. Act as the main point of contact between teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate information flow.
  • Innovation and Customer Experience- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by evaluating emerging banking technologies, leading ideation sessions, and testing new features through proof-of-concept initiatives. Champion customer-centric design by analyzing behavior data, conducting user testing, and iterating products to enhance digital journeys and eliminate friction points.
  • People Management- Manage self and team in line with AHBs people management policies, procedures, processes and practices to ensure adherence and to maximize own and employee contribution to business performance. Organize and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved, and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures- Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement- Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the Banks standards.
  • Customer Service- Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the AHB Service Standards to deliver the Banks required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions.
The ideal candidate should have the following experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in Technology functions or Digital Banking, Fintech or financial services
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Product Management certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Professional Scrum Product Owner) and/or Agile certification preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills Product management
