Manager - Editorial (Temporary Contract)
Job Description
The Manager - Editorial will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality, clarity and consistency of all communications produced by Expo City Dubai's Global Initiatives & Advisory.
This role combines strategic planning and delivery of communication and editorial products with hands-on drafting and editing across outreach campaigns, newsletters, podcast and multimedia content, publications, event materials and thought leadership outputs.
The Manager - Editorial will reflect Expo City Dubai's global positioning and institutional objectives, ensuring message discipline, narrative coherence and executive-level quality across all outputs.
The main responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead editorial review across all communications outputs, ensuring clarity, precision and alignment with Expo City Dubai's brand and positioning.
- Draft, refine and quality-assure executive-level content, including speeches, op-eds, reports, forewords, communiqués and thought leadership pieces.
- Lead and oversee end-to-end development and delivery of editorial publications including books, long-form reports, whitepapers, newsletters, podcast and multimedia scripts, event programme narratives and digital content.
- Shape and strengthen messaging frameworks across campaigns, platforms and global initiatives to reflect Expo City Dubai's authority as a global convenor.
- Support marketing communications initiatives, including web, email and social copy, ensuring consistency across marketing, programme and media outputs.
- Work across teams to translate complex programme and technical content into clear, compelling and globally relevant narratives.
- Maintain rigorous version control and editorial governance across content streams, supporting structured content workflows and efficient information management.
- Balance strategic oversight with hands-on editorial execution under tight deadlines.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Skills required
Essential:
6+ years experience in editorial, communications or publishing roles, with a strong track record of high-level content production as well as:
- Proven ability to edit and produce content for governments, international organisations, C-suite executives or large-scale global platforms.
- Native command of English, with exceptional writing, editing and narrative development skills.
- Experience in corporate communications and/or large-scale event communications.
- Demonstrated ability to balance quality, diplomacy and impact in written outputs.
- Experience producing long-form reports, digital editorial products and executive communications.
- Strategic editorial judgement with strong storytelling instincts.
- High attention to detail and consistency under pressure.
- Comfortable working directly with senior stakeholders and sensitive content.
- Agile, solutions-oriented and able to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
- Collaborative, yet able to operate independently with authority.
- Strong organisational discipline with the ability to manage multiple content streams simultaneously.
