Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced Design Coordinator to join their team in Dubai to work on high profile new build projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Design Coordinator working on high profile projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience in working for recognised Main Contracting Companies
This role is available for immediate joining and is a 6 Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting.
There is an option to transfer to staff after 6 months to suit all parties
Key Responsibilities:
The Design Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating the creative and technical aspects of projects from concept through to execution. This position involves working closely with the design team, architects, project managers, and clients to ensure design intent is maintained, deadlines are met, and documentation is accurate. The role demands a balance of creativity, organization, and communication skills to help bring design visions to life while aligning with project goals. Responsibilities:
Coordinate activities across different project phases, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.Prepare, organize, and update drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Act as a liaison between the design team, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
Track project deliverables and deadlines, following up with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Maintain sample libraries and stay up to date with current trends, products, and materials.
Assist in quality control by reviewing site installations to ensure adherence to design intent.
Support in preparing documentation for authority approvals and tender processes.
Manage and archive all design-related documentation systematically.
Attend site meetings and design reviews, preparing minutes and follow-up action lists.
Requirements:
Design Coordinator Experience:
Education: Bachelor or diploma in Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture or related
Minimum 5 years of experience in design and project coordination, at least 2 year in major projects for a recognised main contracting company.Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office; Revit knowledge is an advantage.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Eye for detail and a solid understanding of interior design principles and materials.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of local authority regulations and building codes is a plus.
