Technician, Maintenance (General)

Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Purpose:

• Carry out routine and emergency inspection and maintenance at the service stations, depots, and other Adnoc facilities related to civil, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and signage works.
• Monitor and work with maintenance contractors for all corrective and preventive maintenance in coordination with the concerned maintenance supervisor.

Key Accountabilities:

• Carry out any jobs on facilities and equipment that need routine or emergency rectification at service stations and depots or plants.
• Attend to complaints received from end users and physically visit the site to ascertain the extent of the problem, carrying out any minor repairs, or contacting maintenance contractors for major defects and expertise.
• Inspect, monitor, and follow up with the maintenance contractors to ensure that the required standard of work is provided on time and in line with contract terms and conditions, and all reported problems are rectified satisfactorily.
• Provide technical supervision over the execution of development contracts related to minor projects and modifications.
• Play a lead role in ensuring proper handovers and organize the work closeout certificates like Provisional Acceptance Certificates (PAC).
• Revisit sites having had problems to inspect and assess the work done, ensuring the problem is rectified as per standards and preparing a written report to submit to the maintenance supervisor.
• Check the third-party contractor in carrying out a variety of maintenance jobs for the service station and offices, undertaking daily rotational checking and inspection of signage and civil works.
• Rectify any minor problems of urgent nature and report any major problems to the supervisor general maintenance and maintenance contractor.
• Review the daily checklist generated by the contractor as per the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly schedule service reports.
• Guide the maintenance contractor to access the various utilities installed in the office buildings and service station in accordance with the as-built drawings, providing the necessary information to perform the various preventive and breakdown maintenance works.
• Attend to various complaints at service stations and offices related to maintenance received through the Oracle ERP system for civil and signage.
• Provide support for civil maintenance activities carried out within the maintenance division such as carpentry, painting, air conditioning, plumbing, etc.
• Attend all assigned breakdowns promptly, carry out necessary repair works, and ensure that equipment is returned to service as soon as possible, while ensuring all safety precautions are taken.
• Ensure the safety instructions are rigidly adhered to during all stages of the work in a hazardous area (safety checks).
• Undertake filing duties of the entire completed preventive maintenance schedule on a regular basis to maintain updated records, carrying out duties of other maintenance technicians during their absence or annual leave.
• Attend to end user queries and requests in the supervisor's absence.
• Check the bill of quantities on site submitted by the contractors.
• Inspect and make reports on the ongoing major projects.
• Assure the quality of material used for the execution of works during routine inspections.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• Technical diploma or secondary school certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.
• Diploma in civil engineering minimum experience and knowledge and skills.
• At least 4 years of experience in the general maintenance department in the oil and gas industry.
